Who Made 26 Blocks?
In the Lightbox for 'The History of 26 Blocks', add images into the existing gallery. Make it look like the one above for the Who of 26 Blocks. I'm going to want the following sections of history (and this will be interesting, entertaining, with pictures, videos, words, etc. Not sure what the layout should look like. A flipbook would be cool. picture/video on one side and text on the other.:
(1) Frustrations I had about Phoenix and not having work from the recession. (If I can, use the spinning java script I used on the old site to promote the names of people who donated and I was going to put into 26 Blocks.). Put things I was thinking about in the spinning cloud that were ignited by Charles passing. This was (2009).
(2) Get a name, web designer, artists, sponsor, logo (2009). 70% of the project was accomplished from my home office, phone, emails.
(3) One month on the block to the launch at After Hours Gallery. (2010)
(4) Record opening, iPad app, PCA, 16-month tour (2010-2011). Experienced by over 500,000 people.
(5) Selected as Centennial art project for state. Plans for 26 cities in AZ. Funding fell through. (2012)
(6) I begin looking for a more permanent place to show the exhibit, free, to the most people, in downtown Phoenix. Meeting Jacob. Meeting John (sales). Install pitched to hotel owner. (2013)
(7) $25,000 upgrade for Jan (2015), 3-year install, thanks to Jacob. Paid for itself in April 2015 when Scholastic Publishing...
(8) Expansion events. (2015 to 2016). Bi-weekly tours.... Why are there no Blacks in 26 Blocks? ... What was the other one or two? ... A few other ideas, but Joey's writing schedule is too busy to allow for them at the present.
(9) In 2017 I begin looking for the next install. I pitch the hotel to stay there. Success! A new contract for 3-years, to Jan 2021.
(10) The future... Other cities? Failed attempts and what I learned. I need a partner person in the city who will be as excited about the prospect when they get home as when they approached me in Phx. I have a city I'm pursuing now, but I'm going to leave it unspoken until I find my counterpart in that city. I'm looking for a minority artist to fill that roll. ... Audio tour begun...
NOTE:
0. Need a new background photo. That one was taken by that 360 guy. But I like the shot,.
1. Remove the videos from this scrolling thing at the top and move them all into Press area.
2. Keep just the best video (pbs) and samples from the show itself, with a few of the very best photos about the show.
3. move the retrospective video (2010-2015) into the History of 26 Blocks.
4. Bring back the Inside Creative Minds to Press.
5. Creative Submenus (26 blocks past, present, imagined future.)
6. Add After Hours Gallery to the photo background for Artisan Colour and add bio's for Russ & Mike.
